Christmas festivities kick off on the 21st & 22nd with a 2 pcn team, any combination, 10 holes – re entry. Entry fee is €5 per person
The Turkey Competition is running all through the Christmas period – entry on the computer, fee taken from Levy.
The 4th & 5th of January is a 3 pcn Waltz, any combination, 10 holes – re entry. Entry fee is €5 per person.

Another Mick Scully sponsored Winter League final has come to pass despite the bad weather. The dedication by players to heading out to play the 10 holes for their teams week in, week out is incredible. The W/League overall best team (Team 23) was made up of Peter Bell, Jason McAuley, Matt O’Shea & John (George) Washington winning with 208pts. Next best was Team 16 & Team 4 both with 205pts. The strength of Team 16 was not to be out shone, with them winning the Shotgun final on Sunday afternoon. Team 4 was made up of Mona O’Loughlin, John Byrne, Brian Hyland & Ger Connolly. Runner up in the Shotgun was Team 3 – 2020 Captain – Des Scahill, Mark O’Connor, Pauric Duggan & Paddy Flanagan. Individual Best Mens score went to Declan Jacob and Best Ladies score went to Mary Mather. Many thanks again to our sponsor Mick Scully, Members and Committee Members for making it a great Winter League 2019.
Hugh Rintoul’s christmas party takes place on the 15th of December. Dinner served from 1 – 7pm (last sitting 6.30pm). Main Course, Dessert, Mulled Wine or Prosecco €16 per person. Music from 7pm. Book your table now! 045-521433 Cill Dara Bar.
The annual remberance mass for the deceased members of the Club takes place on the 27th of November at 7.30pm. All family, friends & members welcome. The Mens AGM is on the 28th of November at 8pm, pls support the great work that the Mens Committee are doing in the Club. The 6th of December is the Joint AGM. A comprehensice round up of the year in Cill Dara is provided by the Joint Committee, All welcome.
Last Saturday night was Nicy’s Captains Dinner. 110 members, guests and Nickys family sat down to a fabulous 3 course dinner prepared by Hugh and staff. George Washington completed the night with plenty of songs for the audience to dance to. A great night was had by all, a fitting finish to his Captains year. Congratulations and well done to Nicky, Liz and their family for 2019 Captaincy in Cill Dara.
The Centenary Committee has a fundraising weekend on the 13th, 14th & 15th of September. On Friday the 13th, it is the Ladies Open Two Person Team. There is a novel element to this competition as it is a “Criss-Cross” Stableford format, over 18 holes. Ruth Conlan and The Burrows Pub in Rathangan are the kind sponsors. Saturday the 14th is a Mens Open Singles Stableford, 18 holes, sponsored by Mr Paul Moran. Sunday the 15th is a Two Person Team – Semi Open, 18 Holes. Any combination, sponsored by Paddy Dawson & Jim Gorman. Invite your friends to play at our fabulous course and help raise some much needed funds for our Centenary Celebrations in 2020.
The annual trip organised by The Thursday Fourball organsiers – Dermot Corcoran, Declan Loakman & Ger Heffernan takes place on Saturday the 7th of September. The bus will collect all participants from the Club car park at 7.15am, departing at 7.30 am sharp. A day of golf, food and fun is promised. Pls contact the office should you wish to book a place.
